Our mission

The world is more digitally connected than ever, and yet many people feel more alone.

We’ve also noticed a growing trend of people turning to AI for life advice — particularly regarding their mental wellbeing. And the advice can be surprisingly grounded and useful. But talking to an AI can never replace talking to someone you trust.

So we asked a different question: could an AI be built specifically for wellbeing — one that encourages people towards real life, real activities, and real human connection?

That is where Aub starts.

How it works

Use Aub in whatever way feels helpful. An emotional check-in. A small reflection. A verbal journal entry. Advice in a difficult situation. Or simply talking through what’s on your mind.

When you want it, Aub suggests healthy next steps that fit your situation — ways to reflect, reset, or act on something that matters to you. And wherever possible, Aub encourages you to connect with the people around you.

Aub is not designed to keep you talking to an AI for as long as possible. It is designed to help you feel clearer, and support you in doing something real.

That is what makes Aub different.

A Preview

The intersection of colour and emotion.

Colour can gently influence how we feel. So we gave Aub the ability to sense your mood and answer with a colour of its own — one that lifts you when you’re low, and keeps you steady when you’re content.

Aub's default state. You should expect to see this purple at the start of every new conversation and also during Aub's resting state.

Aub has sensed you're content and in good spirits. To reflect this, Aub will display a warm yellow to evoke natural sunshine and sustain your elevated mood.

Aub has sensed you're feeling low or uneasy. Aub therefore displays a desaturated, pale blue, linking the mind to nature, like a clear sky or calm water — a quiet visual cue that can feel calming and help settle a busy mind.

Aub has sensed you're in an anxious state, so will display an autumnal orange to make you feel more grounded, relaxed, and in a state of calm.

Aub has sensed you are feeling calm, so will display an earthy green to keep your mind at ease, helping you feel settled and stay calm.

Honest limits

Aub is not a therapist, a doctor, or a crisis service. It is not a replacement for your friends, your family, your community, or professional support.

Aub is aware of its limits. It will always encourage you towards those real-life resources — and when it’s appropriate, it will point you to the relevant services — because they matter more than any conversation with an AI.

We will never optimise Aub for addiction, screen time, or engagement tricks.

When Aub is working, you should be spending less time on your phone, and more time doing the things you love.

What's coming

The Aub app is in development now — a conversation-based wellbeing app, designed to improve human connection with the use of AI.

We are building it in the open with the people who will use it. Project Aub is our feedback system: short, regular surveys from early users that directly shape Aub’s conversations, features, and direction.

It is not an afterthought.

It is how Aub is being built.
